Vito is 29 months old.
Earth Day is coming! We’re having a week of Earth/Land Themed activities and I just have a lot of inspirations from here and can’t wait to try them! Yesterday we made Earth prints. I decided to this one first as its very easy to recreate and manageable when you’re doing it with two kids!
Planet Earth (Usborne) is the book we were reading when we made the prints. So around this time, Xavi’s already familiar of what the Earth looks like. To start with, prepare: two pieces of paper plate, blue and green paints and a cardstock.
In one paper plate, I put a few drops of blue and green paints.
Then made Vito press the two paper plates together. Now this is one opportunity that you shouldn’t miss as your child is practising some fine motor skills here. Teach the child how to press it properly, making sure to spread the paints inside.
Now open it and see the colour mixture! Vito “wowed” when he saw what happened after pressing! He asked for more so we have second try and I made sure that I added more paints this time.
And here’s how it looked like!
We printed our Earth in the white cardstock to capture it and it turned good! We used the print in the white cardstock for display. Xavi kept on pointing it at it whenever I asked him “Where’s the Earth?”.
