Activities for Earth Day! Here are some of the activities we did this week in celebration of Earth Day. These are simple, yet fun activities that I’m sure your kids will love!
- Reading books. Learned about our planet Earth with these amazing books! Details here.
- Big and Small Letter Match. He enjoyed this activity so much! I tried to integrate letter activities in our weekly themes because he doesn’t enjoy a standalone letter activity yet. Details of this here.
- Magnetic Earth Worm. First time for Vito to use magnets! He enjoyed looking for Earth worms using his magnetic wands. I wrote about it here.
- Earth Prints. After reading the books, we did this activity right away. A great way to introduce little ones to our planet.
- Sand Sifting Activity. Not related to mother Earth, but we did this activity to learn about the things we can find under the ground (similar to the Earth worms). Details here.
- Playdough Play. I finally made a homemade BROWN playdough and Vito (and Mavi) enjoyed playing with it using our CAT diggers!
- Earth Pads using Pipettes (and Colour Mixing). This was the most popular activity of the week because the boys couldn’t stop mixing the blue and green colours using pipettes and cotton pads. I think activities with water is a no brainer, the kids will just love it whatever comes along with it! Also, it is so surprising that Vito learnt how to use pipettes that fast. He’s a pro!
- Worm Shape Matching. We love this Learning Resources Bug Me Nut shape pack! Vito enjoyed matching the transparent shapes to the ones in the activity sheet.
