Friends, I’d like to share this simple butter recipe that Mavi suggested (his school project). A few weeks ago, they were learning about the lives of the Irish people during 1916 and one of which is learning how to make this “the old school way”. This butter recipe is so easy to make, and surprisingly it ended up so delicious! Plus Vito even participated!
Materials needed:
- Mason jar
- whip cream
- pinch of salt
Yes, that’s just it! Simply pour the whip cream in a jar, add a tiny amount of salt (pinch!) and sealed it. Have your kids shake the jar, shake it until the whip cream turned into solid. My kids love the shaking part! Encourage them to shake it well by dancing or making fun movements (without breaking the jar of course!).
Now, this is how it looks like when we opened the jars to check out on our butter.
And because my kids were so excited, they just have to taste their butter right away! And yes, it did taste good!! Even our Daddy loves it!
So yes, aside from learning how to milk a cow, we also learned how to make butter! We are loving our Farm Unit!
