I never knew that this could be fun! My Vito enjoyed this activity so much that we did this a couple of times during the day. Even big brother Mavi joined in the fun as well, trying to outshine each other on whoever gets to finish milking first.
So first, we talk about where the milk we consume at home is coming from, and the process of milking. We watched a few videos online to see how it is done in real life.
Once Vito has familiarized with the activity, I got us this latex gloves, filled it with water first (for practice) then punched tiny holes for the liquid to come out once it is squeezed. Vito got hooked right away! He keeps on saying “squeeze squeeze squeeze” as he works on the gloves.
Later that day, I made another set by filling the gloves with real milk this time. Oh boy, he can’t get enough of it again! During the activity, I kept reminding Vito that milk is from cows and “this is how they milk the cow” to produce the milk we have at home. This is a perfect activity to strengtehn those hand muscles and improve fine motor skills!
Make sure to prepare some tub to catch the liquid. I even need to put a tray because there were splatters (milk can be sticky!). I was surprised that this activity is a lot less messy than what I have expected. We will surely revisit this again just for fun!
I highly recommend this activity, I am sure that your kids will enjoy this!
