Vito is 30 months old.
It was so warm last Tuesday that I asked the boys to play outside and then wash their dinosaur toys. Oh boy, they were so happy to do so!
Outdoor and water play always engages the boys. So I asked Mavi to gather all his dinosaur figures, both from Playmobil and Schleich and set-up the table and chairs in the backyard. While he’s doing the set-up, I prepared the dinosaur’s bubble bath by mixing detergent and dishwashing soap in a small tub (from Ikea). I used a food mixer to create the bubbles. The mixture of both soap created a steady and hard bubbles that lasted up to the time the boys were done playing.
The presence of the bubbles provided an extra sensorial play aside from water!
My little Vito is handling this brush like a pro!
Expect something like this would happen. Nobody want’s to stop playing
In Montessori, they categorised this as Practical Life Activity for care of environment. It is a good way to teach kids how to appreciate their toys, to keep them clean so they would last long. The bubbles made this activity even more fun and enjoyable!
