We started off our Insect Unit this week by tweezing insects from the grass.
Its been raining for the past days and we were supposed to catch some bees (they’re everywhere!) but because of the weather we were stuck at home. So I made Vito worked on this cute activity because I love the idea of the grass with colorful insects on it.
I bought the grass from a local shop and the critters are from Amazon by Learning Resources. Vito used to be scared of them, but he’s quite fond of them now. He enjoyed picking them up one by one with tweezers and as he place them on the owl, he counts them as well.
This is a great activity for toddlers to practice counting, hand eye coordination and practical life skills!

What tweezers does he use for this project? I can't seem to find any that work well for little fingers.
ReplyDeleteIt's a craft tweezer. I have the same problem, very hard to look for one that works well with him. This is a craft tweezer made of plastic but kinda pointy. So I'm not sure if I can recommend it. But if you do use it, just make sure to keep watch all the time.
