This is one of the fastest and easiest sensory tub I’ve ever assembled. The tub is filled with 3 packs of lentils and butterflies from Safari Toob. Simple as it is, but oh boy, my little Vito played with this for a long time!
As you know, I’m avoiding using rice. It’s our staple food and I don’t like it when my kids play around with it plus they’re expensive here even if we source them out from an Asian market. So instead, I made use of those affordable beans (they’re worth 20cents a pack!) from the local market and have my kids play with it. Play means, opportunity to scoop, play around with your fingers, grasp, pour and more.
Vito enjoyed covering the butterflies with lentils and once they’re gone, he would dig them up again and announced that he found them. It’s so cute, he’s finding ways to entertain himself while I vacuum and tidy the kitchen. Here, I’m using a IKEA Trofast tub, they’re perfect for our sensory play. I also added measuring spoon and a mini jug for pouring activity.
As you can see, he can scoop them and pour the lentils in small holed mini jug! Love it!
