I couldn’t resist getting these magnetic letters from Early Learning Center because they were on sale and its the only magnetic set I found that’s using the Sassoon font (text standard in UK and Ireland). With these on hand, I set-up a sorting activity of letters for Vito.
When Vito was a toddler, we did a similar activity on this and he enjoyed it. Now, I added a few stuff to add more fun like the magnetic wand so he can search the letters burried in the rice. Then he needs to sort the letters out whether it’s an M, A, R, F. He sorted a couple of letters but later moved on to playing the rice.
He gave up on using the magnetic wand and used his hand instead which I have to agree is more fun!
Just look at that mischievous face! He asked for a funnel because he wanted to see what’s going to happen if he puts the rice in it. This is a great activity for introducing letters to preschoolers, encouraging them through playbased learning and sensorial play!
