I’m gathering a few learning materials on penguins for our Penguin Unit and I came across some interesting materials. We own some of these already and I already added the rest on my wishlist. So I’m sharing this here just in case you are looking for ideas as well.
- Playmobil Penguin Superset. We have this for a year and the boys enjoyed using as a small world play and they would add more penguin figures, water and ice.
- Pengoloo. A fun game for color recognition and memory skills. Perfect for kids 3years and older.
- Earth Penguin Parade. Nesting dolls in penguin version. I would love to have this but its currently out of stock!
- March of the Penguin (video). Such a heartwarming documentary showing the life cycle of penguins and how they survived the harsh weather of Antarctica. Teary eyed over the struggles of mommy penguins just to look for food for their young!
- Montessori Penguin Puzzle. One of our favourites! You can purchase this at any Montessori shop.
- Melissa & Doug Giant Penguin - Lifelike Stuffed Animal (nearly 2 feet tall). My boys will love this! This is perfect for snuggling and for teaching parts of a penguin.
- Safari Ltd Penguin TOOB . The most popular material out there We used it so many times already, for a span of 5 years.
- Penguins (First Discovery S). A must have basic book on penguins that’s perfect for 2 to 3 years old. We borrowed this before from the library now it’s unavailable.
- Aurora World Emperor Penguin. Another stuffed animal that can be added in your penguin unit. This perfectly represents the emperor penguin and the chick.
For sure there are so many wonderful penguin materials out there that I haven’t encountered yet. If you know one or have any suggestions, I would love it if you leave a comment. Thank you!
