We’ve been singing a lot of Halloween songs at home lately and Vito was fascinated with the Skeleton Dance song. I decided to give him some activities on skeletons just like what Mavi and I did years ago (The Skeletal System).
Skeleton 3 Part Cards
We first worked on the skeleton 3 part cards so Vito will know the names of some of the bones in the human body, like skull (which can be mostly seen in stores now), ribs and pelvic (hip bone). I only used the control and picture cards for Vito as he can’t read yet. As I name each bone, I would read to him the definition so I can explain the function of that bone. At this age, the child doesn’t need to memorize or know all the names. This is more on familiarization and usually Vito can only retain the information he is very familiar with like the “skull” which is his head and “ribs”, his chest.

Child Size Skeleton Puzzle
This is a printable puzzle which I found years ago when I was homeschooling Mavi. You can find the activity here. I printed this again and you can find this puzzle on this website. If you don't have time to print and cut your own skeleton puzzle you can also get this skeleton floor puzzle in Amazon.
The Skeleton Dance
And of course, the one that started it all, the Skeleton Dance Youtube. This version is Vito’s favourite and we would sing this a lot at home (and dance with it too!)
And that’s about it! Simple and meaningful activities on the human skeleton for your preschoolers.
