Can you believe that it’s Christmas time in less than 2 months? With this holiday season coming, I’d like to share this fun Christmas tree decorating and counting activity. I made this last year but didn’t make it to the blog and shop. The boys had so much fun putting “decors” into their tree with playdough. You might want to check this out.
The objective of this activity is very simple: to place the correct number of “lights” on the Christmas tree. This is an engaging math activity for your little ones, especially to those who are still learning how to count. Craft bulbs or mini Christmas lights are also perfect for this. But playdough or any available manipulatives would do too.
My little one enjoyed using our playdough. He loves forming these into tiny balls and decorating his trees.
This is play for him but he’s actually learning at the same time too.
Our Christmas tree counting cards come in black and white version if you are trying to save ink and you can use marker pens with them instead. For those who are using the colored version, I highly recommend that you laminate the material for durability and reusability.
You can get this counting activity by clicking here or by clicking the image below. Enjoy!
