Here’s an activity that Vito and I enjoyed playing together lately. It is an extension work for our Thanksgiving Preschool Unit where we integrate math (shapes) to Thanksgiving symbols and icons. We call this activity Spin and Build because we spin the spinner for the shapes we will be using to form the puzzle.
Vito and I would take turns in spinning and forming the puzzle so it is interactive and fun! The picture below is the Mayflower pattern block puzzle that Vito and I worked on. This is the Level 1 version wherein the pattern block puzzle is colored. This is best for younger children who are just beginning to learn and recognize shapes and colors.
Level 2 is another version available in our learning pack. These pattern blocks contain just the outline of the shapes.
And the last level, which is perfect for my older kid, is a blank picture puzzle and the child needs to use his/her imagination to form the puzzle pieces that resulted from a spin.
There are 10 pattern block puzzles included in our pack, each with 3 levels of difficulty. You can check here for details or click the image below.
Enjoy!
