With the success of our Pattern Blocks Spin and Build, I didn't hesitate making another series of Spin and Build and this time it's using LEGO building blocks! Everyone loves LEGO and this is just a perfect extension work and play for creating 2D pictures using LEGO compatible blocks and mats or plates.
The mechanics of the game is similar to our pattern blocks series: spin and then build the picture by using the colored blocks resulting from the spin. We use a jumbo pin and paper clip for our spinner by the way. This can be played by a single player (child with adult supervision or multi player and taking turns with the spin and build).
There are so many ways to play this game, either you build the picture one spin-brick at a time or one entire colored block per spin. What I mean about the one colored block in each spin is when the spin resulted to a color red, then the child will place all the red blocks on the printable mat (or the LEGO plate if available) and then spin again for the next color. If the the spin lands at the same color again, just spin again if playing single or the player will skip a turn for multiplayer.
Vito and I love the one block at a time game since there's three of us playing the game. In the first version, he preferred using the LEGO plate.
The second time we played, we used the printed mat. Here we placed the blocks on the printed material instead of the LEGO plate.
And that's about it! We will be using other pictures in the set in the coming days to battle this cabin fever due to the weather.
