Below are some of the activities included in this amazing learning pack.
SUMMER THEMED LEARNING: DOT PINEAPPLE
Pineapple always reminds me of the seaside and tropical places. So this is such a great addition to our summer-themed learning activities. Have fun putting glass gems/nuggets onto colored pineapples!
If these gems are not available, you can use circle dot stickers, counters, or do-a-dot markers to cover the circles. This activity set is great for fine motor skills and color recognition.
SUMMER THEMED LEARNING: FACES AND EMOTIONS
Look for the matching facial expression and mark it with a counter or a colored wooden peg. Kids will be attracted to these fun and catchy cards with cute and funny faces in time for summer.
Vito enjoyed looking at the emotions on the illustrations, identifying whether it is a sad face, happy face, scared, surprised, etc. He would play around and copy the facial expressions as well.
SUMMER THEMED LEARNING: PICTURE DOUGH MATS
Create summer elements and icons with playdoh and dough mats. This is an absolute favorite not just by Vito but by our followers too!SUMMER THEMED LEARNING: LEMONADE TEN FRAMES
Ten frames for counting activities. Again, use any counters or glass gems for this activity. The child can also form the numbers with playdoh.SUMMER THEMED LEARNING: COCONUT LEAVES COUNTING
Another counting activity included in our set that your kids will enjoy by adding palm leaves on the coconut tree.
The objective here is for the child to place the right number of leaves onto the tree. How cute are these coconut trees?
SUMMER THEMED LEARNING: WATERMELON NUMBER REPRESENTATIONS
Being able to identify the different number representations is the main objective of this activity. Kids love watermelon, and this will totally attract their attention. Learn what's number 3 in the form of ten frames, finger counting, tally counting, and dice count with this fun sorting activity.
SUMMER THEMED LEARNING: UPPERCASE AND LOWERCASE MATCH
These letter matching cards are so gorgeous! I wanted to wear all these flip-flops!!!This is straight forward, cut out the pieces, and match the uppercase letters to their lowercase letters.
Note that you don't need to give your child all of the 26 sets. Start with a few number of sets and add more as the child progresses.
SUMMER THEMED LEARNING: PATTERNING
Patterning is one of the foundations of math, and it starts by giving the child opportunities to identify and create those patterns. You can use colored pom poms, glass gems, colored blocks, crayons, erasers, or any manipulative available.
SUMMER THEMED LEARNING: ICE CREAM BEGINNING LETTER SOUND
Invite your kids to design their own ice cream this summer. This is the beginning letter sound from A to Z sorting activities with a twist!
The child will name the pictures in the ice cream scoop and identify the beginning letter sound. He/she will place the ice cream on the cone to which it belongs.
SUMMER THEMED LEARNING: CVC WORD AND PICTURE MATCH SUNGLASS PUZZLES
Assemble the sunglasses by matching the CVC words to their pictures.SUMMER THEMED LEARNING: TWENTY FRAMES POPSICLES
Counting 1-20 using ten frames!
AND MORE!!!
SUMMER THEMED LEARNING: SHAPE RECOGNITION
Shapes recognition activity using these ice cream shape mats using playdoh.
SUMMER THEMED LEARNING: READING TIME
Learning to read the time from digital to analog clock.
SUMMER THEMED LEARNING: CUTTING STRIPS
Children love cutting, and I added these strips to provide the child/student with the opportunity to cut. The pieces are easy to cut and are perfect for younger children to practice their cutting "snippets" of paper skills.
These and more (a total of 30 activities plus some bonus activities!) in our SUMMER MATH AND LITERACY CENTERS! This unit is absolutely worth it, and you can reuse it indefinitely.
Enjoy!
