I'm delighted to share with your Max's Montessori-friendly toys at 10 months old. I rotated some of these after two weeks because his interest on some of my picks didn't last that long.
BABY DRUM
We love this double sided drum from Hape. The baby can use either the silicone side or the wooden side of the drum, and can use his/her hands or the drumstick that goes with it. Initially, I kept the drumstick (Max would just chew the stick) and let Max use his hands to tap on the drum. Now he loves tapping the stick on the drum and enjoys making sounds.
PALM AND PINCER GRASP CYLINDERS
Max favourite materials. He loves removing the cylinders from the container but couldn't put it back in yet. I got this from TapinToys on Etsy.
PUPPETS AND RINGS
Vito made these puppets last Christmas and now we are using it to play with Max.
SIMPLE BEAD MAZE
This is a simple bead maze from Hape which I absolutely love. It's not too busy, and cumbersome so we can easily move it around the house. Max is able to play with it now, moving beads along the maze with his little fingers!
COLORED BOX WITH BINS
This material is a hit or miss. He don't often use it, but he when he do, he spend lots of time opening and closing the bins. This material is great for pincer grasp practice and a good introduction to opening and closing activities.
PUSH POP FIDGET TOY
Max absolute loves this fidget toy his big brothers gave him! He enjoys pushing those buttons and loves hearing the "click" sound.
STACKING BOWLS
We are practicing to stack two objects and we are starting with this nesting bowls from Grimms. I placed a link to the natural color, but you can also find the red/pink color here. Currently the blue bowls are not available. Currently I'm just displaying two bowls in the shelf to show Max how it should be done.
MIRROR
I'm putting this mirror back in the shelf because I'm beginning to introduce Max to the parts of his face (eyes, nose, mouth). He loves kissing this mirror though LOL.
FLIP FINGERS
This Flip Fingers from Learn Well is a hit and miss. I think this is still too complicated for Max as of the moment. He loves flipping the tubes and hearing the sounds, but doesn't seem to enjoy it as much the Roly Poly Drum.
MIRROR BALLS
I'm replacing the Flip Fingers with our Reflective Balls. You will find how we play it here, and if you want to know more about our Discovery Basket Ideas, click here.
