HOW TO USE THESE:
The Montessori 3-Part Cards sets are mostly used to introduce vocabulary words to the child through matching activities. To know more about this, you can download a tutorial on using Montessori 3 Part Cards here.
In a nutshell, you:
- Match picture cards to control cards
- Match picture cards to label cards and use control cards to check your work
- Match picture cards, label cards and control cards all together
For extension work, use the map cards to show the child the area these plants grow. In Europe, I highlighted the locations with red to go along with the Montessori geography colour code. Using the fact cards, discuss that the highlighted areas in the maps are the locations of the habitats in which these plants grow.
The fact cards highlight important information about the plants, like their lifespan, how tall they grow, the habitat in which they thrive and some fun facts.
And as you progress, you can add these cards to your matching activity with the Montessori 3-part cards.
You've got to read the details written in the Information Sheets. There is plenty of helpful information written in those sheets that are enlightening. Some details include how the local people use those plants, how some are carnivorous, and how some survive for thousands of years? So information that you and your child will definitely enjoy reading it!
And to add fun, I added these activity sheets intended to be used by older students/children. The child may complete the sheets by drawing the plant in question, adding information using their own words, and marking the map of where the plants grow.
