Continent Study of EUROPE for Kids - Biomes, Flora and Fauna

For the second part of my Continent Study - Europe series, I wanted to share how we use materials of biome cards and maps, amazing animals and plants of Europe.

Biomes

Plants and animals are adapted for life in different climates.  This means they have developed special features and abilities to help them survive in a particular climate.  The animals that live in that biome eat the plants that grow there.  Thus kids must learn about the different biomes of areas and continents.

Here are the different main biomes of Europe.  

The three-part card introduces the main biomes of Europe to the child.  It also comes with location maps (isolated biome maps), so the child can easily identify the location of a specific biome.

This also comes with an information card that kids can match with a picture card.

Extension activities include coloring the biomes map, coloring the picture pages and plotting the picture cards (from 3 Part Cards) on the biomes map.

Plants

Europe is home to different amazing plants!  These learning materials will introduce you to ten plants that originate in Europe, the significant roles of these plants on Europe's ecosystem, learn their specific geographic location, why they chose to grow in that specific geographical location and their roles in the culture and lifestyle of the people.

Animals

Europe in a Nutshell pack covers common animals of Europe and has a few hands-on activities designed for young learners.   

Learning about the Parts of a Red Fox.

This pack includes a description and picture cards (also for matching activity), a BINGO Game and a counting activity with ten frames.
