Have you seen Safari Toob Antarctic toob yet? To me, it’s one of the best toob they ever had! I mean, aside from penguins, can you name other animals that live in Antarctica? Quite difficult right? That’s why we are so happy that Safari Ltd finally came up with these figures so we can introduce our kids to other animals thriving in Antarctica other than penguins! So if you have kids or students who love animals and learning about places, Safari Antarctica Toob is one good learning toy you can invest in.

Montessori Inspired Continent 3 Part Cards and Booklet
Wednesday, November 15, 2017
Vito is 4 years and Mavi is 9 years old.
One thing that I love with making our own learning materials is that I get to customize them according to the kids’ liking. One of these materials is the continent learning printables I made last year which we often use. At first, Vito would match it according to colors, now that he’s older, he’s trying to know the names of the continents, especially the ones where he’s been to.

Montessori Geography Folders
Monday, October 9, 2017
When I was preparing geography lessons for Mavi years ago, I learned about the importance of Geography Folders. Essentially, these are folders filled with pictures from your home country or continent as well as from other continents. The pictures should depict people engaging in daily life activities, landmarks, food, animals, children, homes, transportation, and villages, if any. Geography Folders are especially useful for studying your continent as they introduce your child to other races, cultures, places, and traditions.
Animal Habitats Sorting and Activity Sheets

Vito is 40 months old.
If you read my post on the 12 Months More of Montessori for Earth Science, Vito and I will be working on animal habitats. We tried this before, in its simplest form when Vito was still a toddler and I decided to move forward into a more abstract approach (with some sensorial activity) now that Vito is older. In this post, I’m going to share the learning materials which the boys are using and the books to go along with our activities.
Teaching Land and Water Forms to Preschoolers Through Play
Friday, March 17, 2017
Vito is 40 months old.
In line with our Earth Science activities, I decided to introduce Vito to land and water forms using the Montessori Sandpaper Land & Water Form Cards and the Safari Toob vehicles (Safari Ltd On the Road TOOB, Safari Ltd In The Sky TOOB, Safari Ltd In The Water TOOB). I came up with this idea because a few weeks ago, Vito was really hooked with our land, water, and air transportation figures from Safari Toobs.
Flags of the World
Monday, March 13, 2017
Earlier this year I bought Mavi this Montessori Map and Flags because they’ve been having a lot of geography lessons in school and he wanted to master his knowledge of flags. As it turned out, this has been one of the most used Montessori material at home as of the moment. There are 32 country flags with a stand. Mavi can mostly identify those of European and American countries, but he needs to review his African and middle eastern countries.
Animals Around the World Activity
Saturday, February 25, 2017
Vito is 39 months old.
There is nothing more precious in this world than seeing your kids work together peacefully LOL. During the midterm break, I prepared some activities which both of them can participate in. It’s not just about the academics, but my main purpose is for them to learn how to work together as a team and bond as brothers. So aside from learning about flowers, the boys also explored the animals of the world using our Montessori Inspired Animal Continents Activity Sheets. Mavi was so ecstatic to do this with Vito as he loves animals (he said he’s an expert) and geography.
Montessori Inspired Animal Continents Activity Sheets
Sunday, February 12, 2017
I am so happy to share our Animal Continents Activity Sheets. Mavi helped me assemble this learning material for identifying the different animals that thrive in each continent. We’ve used the Antarctica and Asia sheets already and I can’t wait to try the rest with Vito.
Montessori Inspired ASIA Continent for Preschoolers
Thursday, February 9, 2017
Vito is 39 months old.
This month, I’m helping Vito explore the Asia continent . We’ve started continent study last year, which was followed by an exploration of the penguins in Antarctica. We occasionally look at Maps and work on the continent puzzle, and based on my observation, Vito is ready to learn about Asia.

Montessori-Inspired Antarctica Shelf for Preschoolers
Sunday, January 15, 2017
For me January is the best time to introduce kids to the animals of the arctic or of Antarctica. They can pretty much relate to these animals due to the extreme weather we are experiencing during the months of winter, which makes its peak in January. And since our 12 Months MORE of Montessori Series for January is to feature Winter Themed activities, I’m featuring simple ways you can do to introduce the continent of Antarctica to your preschoolers. Now, I’ve done this almost every year with Mavi since he was 4 years old, and I’ve realized that somehow I might have gone overboard with the topic (used a lot of unnecessary materials). So for Vito’s first exposure to Antarctica, I wanted it to be simple, quality over quantity.

Montessori Inspired Continent Activities for Preschoolers
Friday, December 16, 2016
Can’t believe that in a few days, it’ll be Christmas time! Our days are now filled with random activities which I’d like to share after the holidays. School break for Mavi will start this Friday and we’ll be able to finally start our holidays!
Anyway, in today’s post I’m sharing how I introduced the continents to Vito.
Preschool Animal Habitats using Sensorial Materials
Saturday, October 1, 2016
We were reading a lot of animal books lately that I decided to introduce Vito to animal habitats. I have no idea how to do it first, but then I realised that I have kinetic sand, some synthetic grass and unused ice in the fridge… enough materials to present three animal habitats of the world. Take note that there was no serious “lesson” in here. Everything was spontaneous, like a storytelling of animal homes. The concept was introduced as Vito and I played along. Much of the time was spent playing pretend, feeling and touching the grass, sand and ice!
Ocean-Themed Practical Life Activity

This was a simple and easy to setup activity for Vito. Looks simple but he loves doing this over and over again!

Exploring the Landmarks of the World
Thursday, May 26, 2016
Our recent trip to the United States has reignited Mavi’s interest in geography, and he asked me if he could review our landmarks of the world figures to check the places he has already visited.

We are all in love with our wooden London Playset/s which we acquired recently. It’s so precious and beautiful that I can’t seem to take it out the bag!
Now how do we use these figures?
Study of Ancient China
Tuesday, February 16, 2016
Few weeks ago, Mavi and I were learning about Ancient China. I decided that this year, we’ll be focusing in country-based studies rather than continents. Last month we worked on Australia, and because of Chinese New Year being celebrated during February, I guess this month is the best time to conduct Chinese-themed activities.
Small World Play: Ancient China
Friday, February 5, 2016
Gong Hi Fa Cai! It’s the Chinese New Year tomorrow and Mavi and I are currently learning about Ancient China (using STOW Vol 1 as read along book). With these, we set up another small world play which is inspired by the history of China. Here’s what Mavi and I assembled. Last month, we assembled an Australian Outback-inspired small world play and it was a total hit! This month, the boys are enjoying their free play with our new small world tray!
