Winter Building Blocks Spin and Build
Friday, February 1, 2019
With the success of our Pattern Blocks Spin and Build, I didn't hesitate making another series of Spin and Build and this time it's using LEGO building blocks! Everyone loves LEGO and this is just a perfect extension work and play for creating 2D pictures using LEGO compatible blocks and mats or plates.
Our Montessori-Inspired Shelf for Winter
Tuesday, January 15, 2019
I’m back after a few weeks of hiatus! I’ve been focusing more in our homeschool that I didn’t have time to write a post about our activities for the past 2 weeks. Anyway, here’s the shelf that I've setup weeks ago and the main theme for this setup is “winter”. This year, we’ll be doing small study units for science and culture but we will work our way thoroughly (taking our time) in reading, writing, and math.
Winter Themed 1-10 Counting Activities
Wednesday, January 2, 2019
If you love themed activities, you will surely love these winter counting printable activities we have in the shop. These materials promote hands-on mathematics and enable children to practice writing and do some fine motor skill works.
Ten Frames
Vito enjoys these “scenic” ten frames as I often call them. Currently, we have 3 different beautiful designs that can go along with any of your winter themes. Here Vito is working on our kids winter themed ten frames. He was disappointed that it didn’t snow here last Christmas so I gave him a few snowy themed activities. There are two types of activities included in our one to ten counting ten frames.Using the Four Seasons Addition Clipcards

Enjoy the fun in learning addition with this winter-themed addition clipcards. Vito is currently obsessed with adding numbers so I made these seasons addition clipcards for him to work with to help enrich his skills in addition. These are so easy to prepare and use. Below are the recommended manipulatives that you can use with the cards for a hands-on approach in learning addition.
Seasonal Pattern Blocks Mats (with FREE Download)
Friday, October 19, 2018
I am so excited to share the latest craze in our house lately, the pattern block mats! I made these printable materials because my boys are totally obsessed with making “pictures” and objects using our pattern blocks (bought from Amazon). We own this and the magnetic version since Vito was a baby but the boys’ needs keep growing and I decided to provide them with picture mats so they can create not just plain pattern block objects but objects that integrate in beautiful backgrounds for a more imaginative play. The best thing about this printable is that we can print and reuse them over and over again!

Four Seasons Sorting Activity
Friday, April 27, 2018
The days are getting longer, and we are having more sun than rain, so we are spending most of our time outdoors these days and observing the changes in our environment. I posted our nature finds and observations on my Instagram account, and Vito loves so many things in our surroundings (like insects and flowers!). With all these changes, we started rereading our tree book, defining each season and the changes we see around us.
In this Hands-On activity, you will see how Vito learned about the four seasons and the things associated with each season with the help of our Four Seasons Sorting Learning Material. You can get this printable from here or click the image below on its product page.
Jigsaw Seasons Puzzle
Tuesday, February 13, 2018
We love this wooden seasons puzzle (Alphabet Jigsaw Wooden Seasons Puzzle) from the company Alphabet Jigsaw (Ireland). The boys and I love this puzzle! Thought it’s still quite challenging for Vito to assemble, we love working on it together. Below are some of the features why we love this puzzle to bits!
Letter L: Leaf Activities in Autumn
Tuesday, October 6, 2015
We are joining the bandwagon of autumn-themed activities and for Vito, we’re having leaf activities!
Leaf Color Matching
Got these beautiful craft leaves from a local store and used them for sorting colors. I just dumped them in a container and would take one leaf at a time. I then mention the color and placed it to where it belongs. Vito loves calling out their names! I am not sure if he could recognize colors yet, it’s a hit or miss for him. It’s a challenge to put up a color sorting activity for him so I put an extra effort on making it fun like making noises or funny sounds as I drop the leaf to the sorted group.
St. Patrick’s Day Activities for Toddlers
Sunday, March 1, 2015
I am not really a fan of seasonal themed activities. Why? For a busy Mom like me, it is difficult to prepare and assemble materials. The fact that we live far away from the city, our resources are quite limited. It is hard to find materials that fits well in a specific theme.
But… we all have to agree that it is fun to do with your little kids. It’s cute and fun! And the kids will have that festive feeling of the celebration. That’s why, because this month we are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day here in Ireland, I am trying out these seasonal themed activities with Vito! Yes, I’m testing the water and see if I can pull off a seasonal themed activity and let’s see where this will lead me. We’re not doing a bunch right, we’re only trying those that are easy to prepare and feasible for us.
